The start of this blog

So many times I've stared at a giant pile of unsorted LEGO bricks thinking, “There has to be a better way.” That small frustration sparked a deep dive into mechanics, electronics, and software. This blog will document the journey.

The start of this blog
Fully 3d printed Lego grabber to start the sorting process

This blog will be my way of documenting the journey. I’ll be sharing my designs, thought processes, lessons learned, and of course, lots of prototypes. Topics I’ll cover include:

  • Early versions and current prototypes
  • A lot about 3d printing
  • Hardware choices (motors, sensors, AI vision)
  • The software running the sorter
  • What went wrong (spoiler: a lot)
  • And maybe one day: a full open-source LEGO sorting toolkit

Why share this now? Because I know I’m not the only one who loves to build, experiment, and figure things out. Whether you’re a LEGO fan, a prototyping nerd, or just someone curious about how something like this gets made—I hope you’ll find something here worth following.

So, welcome aboard! Feel free to leave a comment, share your own ideas, or just follow along. Let’s build something awesome.

See you in the next post!
